Sharon Short Books in Order

Sharon Short is a versatile author celebrated for her diverse range of works across genres. As the creator of the coming-of-age novel My One Square Inch of Alaska, she masterfully crafts a poignant tale of two siblings escaping the confines of 1950s Ohio. Her Patricia Delaney series, a 1990s-set mystery series featuring an "electronic gumshoe," and the Josie Toadfern series, a comedic amateur sleuth series, showcase her skill in crafting engaging mysteries. As Jess Montgomery, she pens a historical mystery series set in 1920s Appalachia, with the first title, THE WIDOWS, published by Minotaur Books in January 2019. Sharon has garnered recognition through Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Grants, including two consecutive awards in 2012 and 2016. Her writing has also earned her a Montgomery County Arts & Cultural District Literary Artist Fellowship in 2010 and the 2014 John E. Nance Writer-in-Residence at Thurber House. In addition to her fiction, Sanity Check: A Collection of Columns features 100 reader-favorite columns from her decade-long weekly humor and lifestyle column in the Dayton Daily News. Sharon has also published numerous short stories, essays, and has served as the Literary Life columnist for the Dayton Daily News. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the esteemed Antioch Writers' Workshop.
