Bernard MacLaverty Books in Order

Bernard MacLaverty is a versatile writer and educator, born in Belfast in 1942. He draws from a diverse background, having worked as a Medical Laboratory Technician and a teacher of English before becoming a mature student. As Writer-in-Residence at the University of Aberdeen, he explored the boundaries of storytelling. Currently, he teaches creative writing on a postgraduate course at the University of Aberdeen's Research Institute of Irish and Scottish Studies. MacLaverty has published numerous critically acclaimed works, including five collections of short stories and four novels, with his fiction also adapted into radio plays, television plays, and screenplays. His recent film, 'Bye-Child', showcases his skill as a writer and director. MacLaverty is a respected member of Aosdana in Ireland and Visiting Writer/Professor at the University of Strathclyde, with his work reflecting his experiences living in Belfast, Edinburgh, the Isle of Islay, and Glasgow.
