Ben Okri Books in Order

Ben Okri is a celebrated poet and novelist born in 1959 in Minna, Nigeria. His early life, split between Nigeria and London, profoundly influenced his writing, often exploring the trauma of Nigeria's civil war. Okri's literary career flourishes with multiple appointments, including poetry editor for West Africa magazine from 1983 to 1986, and BBC World Service broadcaster from 1983 to 1985. He held the esteemed position of Fellow Commoner in Creative Arts at Trinity College Cambridge from 1991 to 1993. Okri has received numerous accolades, including honorary doctorates from the universities of Westminster (1997) and Essex (2002), and was appointed a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 1987. His notable works include the Booker Prize-winning novel The Famished Road, the first in his trilogy of novels set in a Nigerian village, as well as the novels Flowers and Shadows, The Landscapes Within, and the short story collections Incidents at the Shrine and Stars of the New Curfew.
